Much of the Tuscan cuisine is known as ‘cucina povera’ (rustic cuisine) for its simplicity. Elaborate with minimum of seasoning and herbs used in this region together with authentic olive oil and vinegar to maintain the quality. This enormous steak is widely celebrated around the world that is a huge, fat, thick cut of beef with the bone and filet included and from a specialty breed of cattle known as the Chianina (white cattle). The Chianina beef possesses a more tender, flavorful essence and is of the highest quality beef in Europe. These superb steaks are always and exclusively grilled to a ‘rare’ level and no more! This guarantees the exterior of the steak is seared and crisp with good, black grill marks and ensures an interior that is tender, soft, and succulent.

The story of the Florentine steak is as old as the city from which it takes its name, and if they lose track back in time . However, its tradition, its fame and its name can be traced back to the celebration of the feast of San Lorenzo and the Medici family. At San Lorenzo, August 10, the city lit up the big bonfire ‘ light, which were roasted large quantities of veal which were then distributed to the population.

At one of these celebrations were of English knights to whom it was offered the meat roasted over fires, they called each beef steak referring to the type of meat they were eating. From here a translation adapted to the current language created the word steak that has come down to the present day .
